Privacy Policy for Learn OS

1. Introduction

Welcome to Learn OS ("we," "our," or "us"). This privacy policy explains how our educational mobile application handles your information when you use our app.

Learn OS is an offline educational app designed to help students learn Operating System concepts through lessons, quizzes, and reference PDFs. We are committed to protecting your privacy.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Information You Provide

No personal information is collected. Learn OS does not require registration, an account, an email address, or any personal details to use the app. There is no login or sign-up of any kind.

2.2 Automatically Collected Information

Learn OS itself does not run any analytics or tracking software and does not collect device information on its own. The only automatic data collection comes from the Google AdMob SDK, which we use to serve ads (see Section 4 below):

• Advertising ID and device signals: Collected by Google AdMob, not by Learn OS directly, in order to serve and measure ads.
• Usage Data: Your lesson progress, quiz scores, and coin balance are tracked by the app so it can show you where you left off — this data is stored only on your device and is never transmitted anywhere.

2.3 Data Storage

• All your progress (completed lessons, quiz scores, coin balance, theme preference) is stored locally on your device using Android's SharedPreferences.
• Lessons, quizzes, images, and PDF reference material are bundled inside the app itself — nothing is downloaded from a server, and no separate content or media server is contacted.
• We do not operate any backend server, and no user data is ever transmitted to or stored by us.

3. How We Use Your Information

Since we don't collect any personal information, there is very little for us to "use." The information that exists only on your device is used to:

• Show your lesson and quiz progress within the app
• Award coins for completing lessons and quizzes
• Remember your display preferences (e.g., dark/light theme)
• Display advertisements (via Google AdMob, see below)

4. Advertising

We use Google AdMob to display advertisements in Learn OS. This is the only third-party service integrated into the app, and it is the only reason the app connects to the internet at all.

Ad Types Used:

• Banner Ads: Small ads displayed within certain screens.
• Interstitial Ads: Occasional full-screen ads, shown only at natural break points such as completing a lesson, quiz, or unit — never on app launch or while you're actively reading.
• Native Ads: Ads styled to match the surrounding content.
• Rewarded Ads: Optional ads you can choose to watch in exchange for bonus in-app coins. These are never shown without your action, and coins are only granted after Google confirms the ad was watched.

Google AdMob may collect:

• Advertising ID
• Device information (model, OS version)
• IP address
• App interaction data related to ads (impressions, clicks)

Learn OS does not have access to, and does not separately collect or store, any of the information Google AdMob gathers to serve ads. For more information, see Google's Privacy Policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy

Opt-out of Personalized Ads:

You can reset your advertising ID or opt out of personalized ads at any time in your device settings:

• Android: Settings → Google → Ads → Opt out of Ads Personalization

5. Third-Party Services

Google AdMob is the only third-party service that receives any data from Learn OS. The table below lists it along with the general platform services every Android app relies on for distribution and updates — neither Google Play Services nor the Flutter framework itself collects data on our behalf.

6. Children's Privacy

Learn OS does not require registration, does not collect personal information, and does not knowingly direct personalized advertising at children. That said, because the app's educational content may appeal to students of various ages, parents and guardians should be aware that the app displays Google AdMob advertisements, and Google's own collection practices described in Section 4 apply regardless of the user's age. If you are a parent or guardian with concerns about a child's use of the app, please contact us using the details in Section 10.

7. Data Security

Because almost no data leaves your device in the first place, there is very little to secure — but we still follow good practice:

• All progress data is stored locally on your device only, using Android's standard app-sandboxed storage.
• Learn OS does not transmit any data to servers we operate — we don't operate any.
• The only outbound network activity is to Google's AdMob servers, solely to request and display ads.
• We do not sell, rent, or share any user data with third parties beyond what's required for AdMob to function.

8. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Reset your progress: Use the "Reset Progress" option in Settings to clear all locally stored lesson/quiz/coin data.
• Opt out of personalized ads: Use your device's ad settings to limit ad tracking, as described in Section 4.
• Delete all app data instantly: Uninstalling the app permanently deletes all locally stored data, since nothing is backed up to a server.

9. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time as the app changes. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last Updated" date above.
